The founder of No Struggle No Success Inc. is a Cuban American woman, Janette Graham. She isn't new to prison life as incarceration its embedded within. Although she has never served time in the detention centers or prisons, her entire life was filled with violence, drugs, sexual abuse, neglect, and blended household challenges. The effects of her parents and guardians' incarceration, this environment led to learning difficulties, juvenile offending, substance abuse, suicidality, and risky sexual behavior. By the age of 19, Janette became a teen parent twice., she was faced with many social, education, cultural, financial, racial and health disparities. All the feelings of isolation with inequalities, as a woman of color, minority and a mother living in poverty. Janette grabbed a tight hold onto a hospital-based community initiative program that changed her life forever. She was able to hit the reset button for her and her two sons at that time, this was her second chance at life. She did not want to be defined by her parents' life or the trauma inflicted on her and her children. Janette pushed to complete her high school diploma and obtained gainful employment with introduction into the healthcare industry, she begins to utilize her guidance from her employers and coworkers turn mentors for the opportunity, to heal and grow as a productive member in the Baltimore community. These amazing individuals were a major integral part in her personal and professional development. Since then, she has made it her responsibility to strengthen and increase outreach services. She cautiously builds her solid network and appreciates genuine connections to build new relationships quickly.
Now, as the President of No Struggle No Success, Inc. (NSNS) Janette Graham, established the vision for transitioning youth and adults back into the community. She saw the essential power of mentorship. The positive effects displayed life skills navigating through life. As the leader of NSNS, she committed to fostering an environment that is built around community, positivity, and collaboration to support our reentry population to help them be successful. She delicately stacks authentic resources to share with other that desire to learn something new to improve their lives in a judgement free environment.
Janette has earned B.S. Information System, certifications in Life Skills Coach, Web-designing, Notary Public, HQL and CCW. She has 20 years of experience working in Healthcare Administration and Information Technology the multiple sectors, including profit, public and corporate environments and interacting with volunteers and diverse boards. Implements high quality administrative, research and technology support skills. She has 10 years of experience grants management identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants process and cultivate strong and lasting partnerships with sponsors, community members, leaders, and public organizations. Janette participates in several community outreach programs promoting public safety and health in the vulnerable populations.
Janette is surrounds herself around her children, grandchildren and fur-babies Blu (male pit-bulldog) and Will (male powderpuff feline). She is family oriented and enjoys travelling, read and swim.
NSNS ensures the youth, adults and their families have culturally appropriate wrap-around prevention services including programs that connect youth and young adult to traditional practices of community building and healing and that they have support to navigate through the justice system. NSNS supports motivated individuals who are incarcerated or recently released from prisons and detention centers. NSNS promotes community-oriented and problem-oriented policing to improve community safety and school and community-based restorative and transformative justice approaches focused on healing as an alternative to the court system. Our key recipe is mentorship & peer support. The program balances intentional instruction with aligning values of self-sufficiency success.
NSNS demonstrate ways to reduce recidivism, build impactful relationships, decrease mass incarceration, advocate for law modifications, and remove the obstacles in the reentry transition for adult offenders and intervention services for youth and young adults.
